Ron believes health care is a human right. Throughout his career in Congress, Ron has fought to expand access to quality, affordable health care for all Americans, support reproductive health care, expand Medicare and Medicaid, and defend Medicare against relentless Republican attacks and attempts to dismantle the program.

Ron achieved a ten year extension for the Children's Health Insurance Program, the longest ever extension for the program, securing access to vital health care coverage for some of America’s most vulnerable children.

Under the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, Ron led the charge to – for the first time ever – give Medicare the power to negotiate directly with pharmaceutical companies to lower the cost of prescription drugs for seniors in Medicare. He also secured a $2000 monthly out-of-pocket cap for seniors in Medicare. Ron’s legislation will also hold Big Pharma accountable for their price-gouging at the pharmacy counter if they raise the cost of drugs faster than the rate of inflation.
