Climate Crisis

The climate crisis poses a grave danger to all of us, whether we live in urban or rural places. Ron is known for forging consensus among Oregonians, including conservationists, farmers and ranchers, large and small businesses, and all those who enjoy our special places and the great outdoors. Together, we can combat the climate crisis and protect Oregon’s unique, beautiful environmental treasures for generations to come.

In 2022, the Senate passed Ron’s Clean Energy for America Act into law, which is the most consequential climate legislation of our lifetime. This law secures new tax incentives for investment in clean energy and good-paying jobs on American soil. Ron’s legislation will result in an estimated 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.

Ron is also a cosponsor of the Green New Deal resolution as part of his efforts to transition the United States to cleaner energy and jobs.
