Caught red-handed

Frank Bisignano – Donald Trump’s nominee to run the Social Security Administration – appeared before the Senate Finance Committee this week. At a time when we’re getting alarming reports about Social Security services being interrupted due to Elon Musk’s “efficiency” schemes and Republican officials planning to make cuts, this was a moment for him to be upfront with the American people about Trump’s vision for the program.

So I asked him whether he’d had any contact with Elon Musk’s “DOGE” team. He said no. But there are two problems.

First, a whistleblower recently informed my office that Bisignano has had frequent conversations with DOGE officials. Even demanding briefings and signing off on internal staffing decisions.

Second, Bisignano personally appointed the chief information officer who now leads Musk’s team at Social Security.

That means Trump’s pick to run Social Security lied before a Senate committee, directly contradicting a whistleblower account. It was a desperate attempt to publicly distance the administration from an agenda they know won’t fly with the American people. I’m calling for his nomination to be pulled.

I’m going to keep demanding answers. I’m going to call out when people lie to me. And I’m going to make sure that Trump, Musk, and Republicans in Congress do not pull the wool over people’s eyes.

And let’s be clear: you pay in to Social Security with every paycheck. That means every missed Social Security check is DOGE and Elon Musk stealing YOUR money.

They want Social Security to be less accessible and less efficient, and I’m going to make sure everyone knows that.

More soon,

Ron
