Let's make one thing clear: Presidents cannot dismantle a federal agency without the approval of Congress.

So he's moved to effectively gut the agency by firing half the staff and crippling the department's ability to support public schools, enforce civil rights protections, and provide key guidance for teachers.

Moments like these are when we need to remind him – and the Republicans in Congress who've silently submitted to Trump's wishes – that there's another branch of government that has a say.
