We have to save the CFPB
First, it was USAID. Then, the Department of Education. Now, Elon Musk and Donald Trump are working to kneecap the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Last week, they ordered the CFPB to cease all operations.
I'm sure it's no coincidence that Republicans want to gut the CFPB after it was gearing up to regulate the activities of big tech billionaires like Musk...

The CFPB protects consumers against predatory loans, price-gouging, and predatory banks, and it's saved consumers over $20 billion. It shines a light on corporate greed and corruption. So of course Trump and Republicans are abusing their newfound power to immediately and illegally dismantle it.
Right now, American families are worried about how to pay their bills. Meanwhile, whether it's dismantling the CFPB or dangerous tariffs, Trump and Republicans are doing everything in their power to make it more expensive for you.
In these times of economic uncertainty when families are struggling to pay bills while corporations rake in record profits, the CFPB has never been more essential. So we have to fight to save it.
One of the proudest votes in the Senate was to establish the CFPB. I'll be damned if we let a couple of oligarchs illegally dismantle it.
Onward,
Ron
