There’s a lot left to do for American workers

It's another gorgeous Labor Day here in Oregon, and I hope you're out there enjoying it!

As you do, please do take a moment to acknowledge the hard-working men and women who have, and continue to, lead the fight for fairer pay and better working conditions for every American.

Without the work of previous generations of labor organizers, we wouldn't have the weekend, the 40-hour work week, a minimum wage, or bans on child labor. These things we take for granted today were hard-won by the struggle and determination of organized workers.

But there's a lot left to do. We need to raise the minimum wage. We need to tighten protections to further crack down on corporate union-busting tactics. We need to reform the tax code so that we're protecting jobs on American soil and not creating incentives to ship jobs overseas.

By sticking together and standing up for working families, we can get it done. And I'm certainly excited by the prospect of all the pro-labor policies that a Harris-Walz administration would deliver us.

So from the office to the factory line to the picket line, the fight for workers' rights goes on. Let's all celebrate today as a recognition of that fight's importance to every one of us.

Onward,

Ron
