We have only one planet
Like so many Oregonians, I have a deep, unwavering appreciation for the natural beauty of our state and the endless outdoor spaces and opportunities it has to offer. That's why this Earth Day, I'm as committed as ever to protecting our great state's clean air, water, and land for future generations.
It's not enough to simply defend Oregon's rivers and mountains, or its coasts and valleys. All of us must be a part of a greater movement to save our planet and tackle the climate crisis by moving toward a clean energy future with good-paying green jobs.
That's why I was so proud to lead the charge in passing my clean energy tax credits into law under the Inflation Reduction Act, which marked the biggest climate action of our generation. I'll keep pushing for more transformative policies that make cleaner air, water and communities a reality.
I know that big polluters and climate deniers aren't going to stop trying to slow down climate action. That's why we can't ever let up – we can't take our state, country, and planet for granted, and we must create a world with opportunities that are sustainable.
On this Earth Day, let's remember: we only have one planet, so let's protect it with all we've got.
Onward,
Ron
