Veterans Day

This Veterans Day is a chance to say thank you to America's veterans for their bravery and sacrifice on behalf of our country. Our veterans are an example to all of us of what it means to selflessly serve — and we must celebrate that service by ensuring they receive the medical treatment and benefits they deserve.

Throughout my career in public service, I have sought to enhance hiring for veterans, fix the problems at the VA, give veterans access to greater health care choices, and make sure that mental health services are made readily available to those returning from combat.

We must never cease in any of this work, and today, we recommit to honoring the covenant our country has with its veterans. I feel duty-bound to keep this covenant, and I will always stand for dignity, care, and recognition when it comes to those who have worn the uniform to defend the values that define America.
