One year from now:
365 days from now, we'll be waking up and looking at the results of the 2024 election.
We'll either see headlines about how Democrats hung on across the country in tough races from Pennsylvania to Nevada to Montana to Ohio — or we'll be reading about the return of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell.
I won't sugarcoat it: Democrats are facing a very difficult Senate map in 2024. I'm committed to doing my part to help my fellow Democrats running competitive races that will decide control of the Senate. But I can't do it alone.
Our narrow Senate majority has been a critical buffer against the extremism coming from House Republicans. It's allowed us to get once-in-a-generation climate and drug pricing legislation across the finish line, and continue confirming President Biden's qualified judges and progressive nominees to serve the American people. And if our Senate majority survives 2024, there's every chance that we will be working alongside President Biden and the new Democratic House come 2025.
Democrats have made a lot of progress for the American people, and I'm excited about what else we can achieve with a Democratic Congress.
Senate Democrats have overcome long odds before.
Many of my colleagues (such as Tammy Baldwin, Sherrod Brown, and Bob Casey) entered the 2018 cycle in states that Donald Trump had just carried — and then won strong victories. I remember how in early November 2020, pundits had written off our odds of re-taking the Senate — only for Democrats to flip two seats in Georgia the following January. And I'll never forget last year, when many were predicting a "red wave" — and Democrats increased their majority.
We can overcome the odds again. And we'll do it through consistent grassroots donations from supporters like you.
Thank you,
Ron
