Our tax system should work for everyone
Today, while teachers, nurses, firefighters, and working families across the country are paying their fair share, billionaires and wealthy corporations are paying far less or nothing at all.
Our country is a tale of two tax codes: one that favors the ultra-rich, allowing them to get away without paying their fair share, and one for everyone else.
While hardworking families pay taxes out of each paycheck, the ultra-wealthy and corporations continue to amass wealth without contributing their fair share to the public goods and services that make our society function, like education, health care, infrastructure, and public safety.
Republicans have spent decades cutting taxes for corporations and the rich and helping tax cheats get away with gaming the system. Enough is enough. Our tax system should work for everyone, not just the fortunate few.
That's why I'm fighting for a billionaires income tax to ensure they pay their fair share, while ensuring the IRS gets the resources it needs to go after wealthy tax cheats.
I'm proud to be leading this fight to level the playing field for working families and create an economy that works for everyone, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
More soon,
Ron
