What it means to be a progressive
Americans are rightfully concerned about how this coming election will determine our democracy's future. Right-wing Republicans' attempts to undercut our basic democratic foundations are more and more brazen.
So progressive Democrats must state clearly and proudly what we believe in and are willing to fight for.
As your Senator, while I'll always try to find common ground, that doesn't mean compromising on my core principles:
- Creating good-paying, union jobs that allow families to put food on the table and save for a brighter future.
- Protecting reproductive freedom.
- Ensuring that the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share and closing awful tax loopholes that keep them from paying a dime in taxes.
- Safeguarding data privacy and holding Big Tech accountable for abuses.
- Tackling the climate crisis with bold solutions.
- Expanding voting access and opening the doors to democracy.
In other words: tangible, actionable priorities that will make a difference in the lives of Americans – a reason for people to support us and not just for not being our opponents.
So I'm going to say it now, again, and as many times as it takes: as your U.S. Senator, I will fight for the progressive priorities we both cherish.
Six more days! Let's get out the vote!
