It’s utterly damning
With only three days to go until the end-of-quarter fundraising deadline, I have a few things I want to say.
Some of what we heard from Senate Republicans during Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson's confirmation hearings was really, really, really out there.
As many of us feared, when it was their turn to ask questions of Judge Brown Jackson, Republicans largely turned the confirmation hearings into a backward-facing, conspiracy theory-riddled circus.
Over the course of last week, we heard Senate Republicans go after the constitutional right to contraception in Griswold v. Connecticut, question the constitutionality of interracial marriage, and target the landmark Obergefell case, which protects the constitutional right to gay marriage.
Senate Republicans are laying out in no uncertain terms what they plan to do if they retake the majority in Congress and the White House. They'll use every tool at their disposal to continue stacking courts across the country – including the Supreme Court – with right-wing justices willing to overturn over 80 years of constitutional basic human rights for the American people.
Americans have a clear choice on the ballot this fall: a vote for Democrats is a vote for moving our country forward and building on the important progress we've already made. A vote for Republicans is a vote to roll back the clock on progress and basic human rights nationwide.
And so you know exactly where I stand:
Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson is immensely qualified to serve on our Supreme Court and will be an incredible jurist, and I look forward to voting 'yes' on her confirmation.
Donate today as we push on to Election Day in November.
