We know it’s coming.
I don't need to tell you how much Mitch McConnell has held up progress through his obstruction.
It's been a rallying cry for years: progressives and Democrats must take back the Senate, or nothing will get done.
It isn't just the filibuster; it's his unwillingness to even debate reasonable laws passed by the House, his unprecedented blockade of President Obama's final Supreme Court nominee (followed by four years of disregard for lawmaking so he could jam Trump nominees onto the bench), and his glee at being the Grim Reaper who makes sure nothing gets done.
That's exactly what Republicans have promised for 2021 and 2022: if they win, it's right back to a do-nothing U.S. Senate.
It's already challenging enough for progressives with a slim, 50-50 majority. These next two years must be about getting as much distance as possible from another stint for McConnell as Senate Majority Leader.
As May ends, your support is crucial to showing as much strength as possible into the coming Republican campaign spending. And we all know it's coming.
So please chip in $3 today. Let's expand our Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate.
