The US Senate isn't broken. Republican leadership is.
More than 11 million Americans have contracted the coronavirus. More than 250,000 have been killed by it. As cases continue to rise, millions of workers are being forced to scrape by without another round of relief from Congress.
Americans are in desperate need of help from Congress, meanwhile, the only thing on Mitch McConnell's legislative calendar is rubber-stamping more Trump judges to lifetime appointments.
McConnell has made it perfectly clear that as workers and families across the country are being forced to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table, he has no interest in supporting Americans suffering from a virus run amok and facing unemployment, bankruptcy, and houselessness in record numbers.
Ignoring that pain isn't a matter of priorities; it's a heartless, cruel choice.
The U.S. Senate isn't broken. Republican leadership is. That's why it's so important that our movement elects two more Democratic senators in the Georgia special election, to take the gavel away from Mitch McConnell and create a Senate that works for working Americans.
