We're going to make it through this
I was back home in Oregon this weekend, and I want to give you an update of where we stand.
I continue to be briefed regularly on the COVID-19 situation in our state and nationwide, and I'm urging the Senate to immediately bring up a pandemic aid package for a vote, an important and urgent step to helping those families who need it most. This cannot wait, and isn't a Democratic or Republican issue.
And as Congress negotiates additional measures desperately needed, I also want to make sure you understand one thing: we're going to make it through this.
I talk a lot about the Oregon Way. It's our state's spirit of building community and working together to solve problems and improve life for everyone. And the tougher things get, the more resolute we become. It's embedded in our DNA as Oregonians.
People are right to be concerned about what happens next, and be frustrated by the lack of response by the federal government. But if we take this pandemic seriously and support each other, we'll come out the other side. The best thing you can do right now to protect yourself, family and community is to stay home.
Life goes on, but we all must do our part to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to support our families, neighbors, and communities.
Stay safe,
Ron
