A horrific abuse while the Trump administration looks the other way

For months, I've been fighting hard to get the truth about the Saudi government's potential involvement in helping Saudi fugitives flee the country to evade the U.S. justice system.

In December, my bill, which requires the FBI and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) to release any and all information regarding Saudi involvement to Congress, became law.

Just weeks ago, under the bill that I got passed into law, the FBI declassified a bombshell report confirming that the Saudi government has been helping nationals flee. This report confirmed my worst fears.

This fits into a consistent and troubling pattern. A pattern of the Saudi government subverting the rule of law on American soil, and the Trump administration looking the other way instead of holding them accountable.

Bottom line: there is never a good reason to ignore blatant subversion of the rule of law and grotesque human rights abuses.

Enough is enough.

It's time for accountability. And that's my promise to you: I will use every tool at my disposal to ensure that the Saudi government is held responsible for their actions.
