What we didn't hear last night
Last night, Donald Trump delivered a hate-filled, reality television version of the State of the Union address.
The President doubled down on his plans to squeeze working families to make ultra-wealthy corporations, individuals and special interests even wealthier.
Here's what we should have heard: a plan to expand access to quality, affordable health care, a plan to secure our elections from hacking and foreign interference, a plan to hold the mega-wealthy accountable for failing to pay their fair share, a plan to pass common-sense gun legislation to close loopholes and require background checks. The list goes on.
Actions speak louder than words, and so far, Trump's presidency has been a never-ending laundry list of broken promises to the American people.
America deserves leaders who will fight hard to put the needs of working families above those of industry insiders and special interests.
That's why I need your help. Donate now to help elect strong, progressive leaders who will fight tooth and nail to lift up working families and make our country a better place to live, work and raise a family for every single American, not just the fortunate few.
We've got a lot of work to do. I'll be in touch over the next few months with ways we can keep building our momentum and retake the White House and the Senate this year.
Onward,
Ron
