The American people deserve a fair, open, and thorough impeachment process
Today, for the third time in nearly 250 years, the House of Representatives voted to impeach the president of the United States.
Now, the hearings proceed to the Senate, where Mitch McConnell has vowed to ban witness testimony, and do everything possible to starve the process of useful information or inquiry. That is not the path to a just inquiry.
With the integrity of our democracy at stake, the American people deserve to hear all of the facts, weigh all the arguments, and watch their elected representatives weigh our commitment to defend our Constitution and democratic processes. I take that oath as seriously as anything I have done as a member of the U.S. Senate. I will use my role as a juror to push with all my strength, everyday, for a fair, open, and thorough process.
To be continued,
Ron
