Ending the DACA program?
Friends, I won't sugar coat things for you. And neither will major publications like the New York Times:
We're talking about 700,000 DREAMers: young immigrants who are our friends and neighbors, who are going to school and contributing to our society. Kicked out of America by callous politicians and sent to countries they've sometimes never known.
But that doesn't matter to the Trump administration and their allies. Not one bit. Trump could care less about the human side of this equation. In fact, more than once, Trump has touted his policies' inhumanity.
I went to the border and saw firsthand the cruel reality of Trump's extremist immigration agenda: kids locked in cells, children separated from their families, hunger strikes. And now, our nation's DREAMers are fighting for the lives they have built in America.
We can't let them get away with this. Join me in taking a stand with DREAMers to send the message that hatred and bigotry have no place in America.
For tomorrow, get ready and stay tuned. We're organizing as part of a nationwide movement against Donald Trump and his allies.
