Jeff Sessions?!?!?!
Jeff Sessions – that's right, the Jeff Sessions – has decided he's fully refreshed after his 20-month stint jailing asylum-seekers and targeting Muslims, and wants back in to the U.S. Senate.
That's the last thing America needs right now.
At a time of great divisiveness and racial resentment, we can't afford to let the man who set Stephen Miller loose on America back into government.
Especially when the Senate has my friend Doug Jones, an honorable, decent man and the U.S. Attorney who secured a conviction for the KKK members who bombed a Birmingham church and killed four African-American girls, the last thing we need is Jeff Sessions who once called a white civil rights attorney a "disgrace to his race."
And at a time when my friend Doug has shown that same honor and moral backbone, standing firm for reproductive choice, access to quality, affordable health care, and ending the racist, humanitarian nightmare started by Jeff Sessions, we simply cannot have another hyper-partisan extremist in the Senate, blocking the will of the American people to win brownie points with Donald Trump.
Doug is a principled, dedicated representative for the people of Alabama, and he's in for a tough fight: Sessions is running because Mitch McConnell is getting desperate, terrified of another Democratic win in Alabama. So he and his deep-pocketed cronies are throwing every dollar they can at making sure it doesn't happen twice.
That's where we come in.
Despite what Jeff Sessions might think, the people of Alabama don't owe him anything, especially not a place in the Senate. With your help, Doug is ready and willing to fight for his place in the Senate so he can continue being a champion for working families in Alabama, and nationwide.
Doug's beat the GOP machine before, and we know he can do it again. While Sessions and McConnell are trying their power through dividing us and instilling hate, we'll win by coming together for a better, more equal country.
