Donald Trump has taken every opportunity in the last two years to demonstrate that there's no democratic principle he won't mangle, no relationship he won't sell out, and no moral compass he won't stomp on in his pursuit of power.

Even so, listening to Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen testify before the House Oversight Committee was sickening.

Cohen painted a picture of a White House – and, increasingly, a federal government – run more like a crime syndicate than a branch of government, in which Boss Donald Trump demands unquestioning loyalty while giving none.

He gave specific and disturbing examples of Trump's deep-seated racism, ignorance, and greed.

Cohen described a culture of bribes, election tampering, and obstruction of justice.

Actually, a full-bore assault on justice.
