Good news: A victory for justice

Yesterday afternoon, Mitch McConnell withdrew the nomination of Ryan Bounds for a lifetime appointment as a Federal Judge.

Put simply, this is great news.

Bounds was a deeply flawed candidate with a history of race-baiting and belittling sexual assault. Senator Jeff Merkley and I have been working for months to show that Bounds is not someone who should be given the authority to decide case law.

His withdrawal shows that, when we stick together with uncompromising commitment and we fight for what's right, we can win.

Yesterday, we won a battle in the fight for justice. Let's keep up the fight.
