Outrageous vote to protect Equifax
Earlier this week, while much of the nation was watching the first game of the World Series, the U.S. Senate voted to deny consumers' rights to hold financial institutions like Equifax accountable when they violate consumers' trust.
With a tiebreaking vote by Vice President Pence – and not a single Democrat – the Senate is letting financial firms off the hook, even after the firms defrauded and allowed data breaches.
That's wrong. Nearly 30,000 Americans have joined you in signing our petition demanding that Equifax be held accountable for letting hackers grab our personal data.
