9 million low-income kids are counting on us
We all know that the fight for quality, affordable health care has been hard. Thankfully, we have been able to make progress on one of the most important issues – making sure that America’s kids have health insurance.
The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) ensures that uninsured low-income children can get the health care they need. Nearly 9 million low-income kids count on it as their lifeline to quality, affordable health care.
The deadline to extend the funding is the end of this month – and the Senate Finance Committee came to an agreement to extend the five-year funding for the program. Now, the bill goes to the House.
This is the kind of critical work where we must find common ground. It’s critical to our kids’ health and safety that the House agrees. I'll keep fighting to get it over the finish line.
