Dreamers: We’re with you

Families are being torn apart left and right under Donald Trump.

The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program was created to give 800,000 Dreamers – young undocumented immigrants who have known no other home but America – the opportunity to make vital contributions to America without fear of deportation.

Dreamers represent the best of our American values – and it was a step in the right direction toward comprehensive immigration reform.

But this morning, Donald Trump smashed their hopes and fulfilled his bigoted campaign promise. His administration will rip away legal protections for young Dreamers in a matter of months.

Like Trump’s border wall, ending DACA is not about American safety. These young people are entrepreneurs, thinkers, civic leaders, and members of our military. Every day they inspire me with their courage.

For Dreamers, this decision creates a terrifying situation and an uncertain future. Share this post on Facebook and tell Dreamers that we are standing with them – and we won’t give up.
