Sometimes it’s hard to keep track of the promises that Donald Trump has made and then broken.
Here’s one Trump quote I won’t forget, though: “Save Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security without cuts. Have to do it.”
Yet every version of Trumpcare that we’ve seen included huge cuts to Medicaid – and who knows what is next since Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has made it his life’s work to cut Medicare and Medicaid.
Sunday marked the anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid being signed into law. 52 years later, we must continue to stand up for the Medicare guarantee of protecting seniors and the 75 million Americans who rely on Medicaid for health care.

Protecting and preserving Medicare and Medicaid is critical to keeping working families from facing bankruptcy and helps prevent older Americans who have worked their entire lives from hitting the depths of poverty.
Last week, our work helped to save the Affordable Care Act – but we must keep fighting to ensure that millions of Americans don’t live in fear of losing their health care when they or their loved ones need it.
