Disappearing in Trump's America?

We cannot let maternity coverage disappear in America.

Thanks to President Obama, our current law makes maternity and newborn coverage a mandatory benefit for all insurance plans.

But Donald Trump’s pick to run Medicaid and Medicare, Seema Verma, has said that health insurance companies shouldn’t be required to cover maternity coverage, which threatens the health and safety of growing families.

Health care is about more than actuarial tables and budgets. Health care is about the lives of real people. Whether it’s care at the beginning of life or at the end of life, we must make sure that every American has quality, affordable health coverage.

As the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, I'm calling on my colleagues to vote no on Seema Verma's appointment and doing everything in my power to stop Verma before she dismantles critical health care access for millions of Americans!
