Tom Price is Donald Trump’s pick for Health and Human Services Secretary.
Who is he?
Price wants to privatize Medicare, gut Medicaid, defund Planned Parenthood and repeal the ACA with no other plan in sight. He would decimate the health care coverage millions of Americans rely on.
Tom Price also has shady and suspicious investment "practices." He misled the Senate about a special deal he got on health care stock from his Congressman friend. When he refused to answer our questions about this, the Republicans suspended the rules and advanced his nomination – despite a Democratic walk-out from the committee.
To add to this parade of horribles, Price also has a track record of making investments in health care companies and then promoting legislation to help those very companies.
With these shady deals and a plan to privatize Medicare, the Republicans know the more daylight Price sees the swampier and more unacceptable he gets.
That’s why Mitch McConnell scheduled the vote on Price's nomination for 2 a.m. tonight.
