For billionaires? Or working Americans?

Secretary of Treasury is a big job -- one with the power to reconnect working Americans with our country’s economy.

That’s why I’m taking Steven Mnuchin’s nomination very seriously. And he is coming to Capitol Hill today.

As the Ranking Member on the Senate Finance Committee, responsible for reviewing his nomination, I look forward to asking him a number of tough questions about his past and his plans for our nation’s future.

He has a troubling record of profiting off the victims of predatory lending.

When Mnuchin ran OneWest Bank, he was known as “The Foreclosure King,” foreclosing on over 36,000 homeowners. In one instance, his bank actually foreclosed on a 90-year-old woman who owed 30 cents – and accidentally sent a check for 3 cents. Unbelievable.

Will he revitalize our economy, rein in Wall Street’s abuses, and create jobs for working families? Or just do the bidding of big corporations and billionaires?

Let’s find out.
