For many rural Americans -- in Oregon and across the country -- this is reality, and we need to do something about it. It’s time for Congress to expand high-speed broadband access for rural communities!

Broadband internet access is no longer a luxury. It’s an absolute necessity. Today's ranchers and farmers need to be able to connect to online tools at all times, literally in the field, just like many urban workers. Rural businesses will do better with reliable access to online tools and markets for their products. So will students on reservations and in small, isolated towns who want to learn and connect with other young people. And broadband helps to share products and ideas from rural Oregon with the rest of the world.
