The Constitution and the Supreme Court

Americans do their jobs every day no matter who is president or if it's an election year. As a U.S. Senator, my job is clearly defined in the Constitution: to provide advice and consent on the President’s nominees.

I’m going to do my job, and I’m calling on my Republican colleagues to do theirs. Sign the Petition: tell Senate Republicans to give Judge Merrick Garland an up-or-down vote!

I recently met with Judge Garland and I look forward to learning more about his qualifications and judicial philosophy from a hearing on his Supreme Court nomination.

What are Senate Republicans waiting for? We have a President. We have a Supreme Court vacancy. We have a nominee. Let’s do this. Let’s follow the Constitution. Let’s hold hearings and let’s give Judge Garland a vote!
