No one they won’t sell out

Since Donald Trump took office, nothing has been as clear as his intention to side with corporations over the American people at every possible opportunity. From the Republican bailout for billionaires and corporations, to their plans to slash billions from Medicaid, to going after the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). It's clear the Republican agenda begins and ends with helping corporations turn a profit.

The CFPB is the single most important watchdog protecting consumers from predatory companies and their shady sales tactics that nickel and dime hard-working American families.

As part of their initial battery of executive actions, designed to throw a wrench in the federal government's work, they've installed Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent as Acting Director of the agency. Since taking office, he has done everything in his power to kneecap the agency and all power it has to go after corporations.

Now that they've stopped the creation of new rules, the GOP majority in Congress is hard at work trying to undo rules created under the Biden administration to protect Americans from unnecessary fees and predatory practices.

Just a few weeks ago, they passed legislation to do away with overdraft fee caps. This is basically a green light for banks to further rip off consumers and working families.

These caps were created to prevent big banks from padding their profits with the hard-earned cash of Americans living paycheck to paycheck. By targeting the cap on exorbitant overdraft fees, Congressional Republicans are sending a clear message that there's no one they won't sell out to please Donald Trump and his billionaire allies.

We quite literally cannot afford for these rubber-stamp Republicans to keep control of Congress. Democrats have a real path to taking it back in 2026, but the efforts to re-energize and organize our movement need to start now.

So donate $3 today. With your help, we can take our message across the country and break through the noise created by right-wing media narratives.

Onward,

Ron
