Dr. Mehmet Oz
Donald Trump has started his second term by sending a non-stop parade of dangerous, unqualified nominees before the Senate.
The latest is Trump's pick to head up Medicare and Medicaid, Dr. Mehmet Oz.
Dr. Oz is a snake oil salesman. For years, he used his popular TV show to uplift for-profit grifters and wellness pseudoscience.

Last week, when pressed during a Congressional hearing, Dr. Oz made it clear he's all in on the Republican plan to remove nurses from nursing homes.
You read that right: the person nominated to head up the major federal health programs that cover a majority of nursing home beds doesn't think nursing homes need nurses.
He doesn't think your mom needs a real nurse to help her get to the bathroom. Or a real nurse to bring your grandpa his meals and chat with him in the evenings.
Throughout his career, Dr. Oz has been a good friend to for-profit insurance companies. His answers at last week's hearing indicate he will be a rubber stamp for Trump and Musk's plans to privatize the health care millions of Americans rely on and hand the keys over to private equity firms that will turn the simple act of making a doctor's appointment into an Olympic sport.
I've been pressing Trump's nominees from day one about how their plans will hurt families in Oregon and across the country, and I'm not backing down.
More soon,
Ron
