Standing Up for Seniors
This week, we're celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Older Americans Act. And, at the end of the month, the 50th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid.
It's true: July 1965 changed the lives of America's seniors in a big way.
Fast forward 50 years, and what do we see? A whole bunch of Republicans running for president promising to privatize Social Security, raise the retirement age, cut benefits, raise Medicare co-pays, and worse.
Every month, 250,000 Americans turn 65 years old.
And every single one deserves to live in dignity, protected from abuse, and with access to effective, affordable health care.
Before I was elected to anything, I founded the Oregon Gray Panthers -- and I've spent just about my whole adult life fighting for our seniors.
And you can count on me to keep up the fight. I hope you'll stand with me. This one matters.
Thank you!
Ron
